The Public Services department is seeking a Class A Drinking Water Treatment Plant Operator for specialized, skilled work in the operation and maintenance of a NANO water treatment plant and Lime Softening plant, facility, and equipment and grounds on an assigned shift. Employees in this classification are expected to exercise independent judgment and initiative in solving routine maintenance and operating problems.

THIS POSITION MAY REQUIRE WORK ON NIGHTS, WEEKENDS, HOLIDAYS, AND MAY BE SUBJECT TO BE CALLED FOR DUTY IN THE EVENT OF A IMMINENT NATURAL DISASTER OR ITS AFTERMATH.

Maintenance Worker/Equip Operator II

Utilities Mechanic II - Sewer

Installs, operates, maintains, modifies, and repairs a variety of mechanical and electrical machinery, equipment and systems used in a municipal water, wastewater treatment plant, sludge handling facility, or lift station equipment and facilities. Overhauls pumping and lift station equipment through removal, repair and replacement of pipes, pumps, and motors. Performs inspections and operational efficiency checks, conducting preventative maintenance service on electrical and mechanical components of a variety of pumps and supportive equipment and machinery. Disconnects and reconnects electric motors as necessary for repair or replacement; packs pumps; cleans seals; greases and oils equipment. Maintains records of service and maintenance. Performs any related tasks as assigned to maintain the proper operation of water/wastewater systems. Responds to call-ins in the event of hurricanes or other critical events.

Landscape / Grounds Technician III
